Chaim Katz
Founder & director of Gisha Center. Experiential educator and group facilitator with over 20 years of experience leading people through the field, challenge and growth.

How it began
As early as 1998, as a young youth counselor, Chaim was already leading trips and journeys in the field, long before "experiential education" was part of the conversation. Even then he saw that what happens between people in nature, around a campfire, on a steep trail, in a shared moment of exhaustion, opens doors a classroom lecture never will.
A turning point came in 2007, on a journey through England's New Forest, where he saw how a shared experience in nature can transform a person and a group. From there he went on to top-tier professional training, among the first in the Orthodox community to study at the Wengi Institute and earn WAT certification, learning to translate raw field experience into a precise, safe and professional process.
Out of that, Gisha Center was born, from the desire to create a place where people (teens, fathers, managers, whole communities) could meet themselves through real experience, not just learn about it.
